Had dinner with Delanne and Marie this evening. It was good. Went to TCBY afterward to eat icecream.
I don’t talk about them (or to them, really) enough, so sit back and get ready…
Delanne was talking about tatoos again. She got her septum pierced about two weeks back, which apparently makes it a hassle to blow your nose. She’s now in graphic design at AU, still seriously planning on going into tatoos when she graduates. I’m hoping that I can convince her to finish up an essay on tatoo culture, it’s pretty interesting to hear her talking about it, and I want to share some of her insights.
Marie’s talking about some paying gigs around town, which is good news. She’s still studying music at AU, and dang if she isn’t amazingly good at it. I think she’s currently shopping around her talents as a jazz pianist and vocalist in order to pay the bills.
It’s interesting being the “brainy” sibling while both of my sisters have incredible creative streaks. Delanne’s been good with visual stuff for years, and her choice of medium (tatoo) is pretty dang interesting, even if I don’t have any desire for one myself. Marie, likewise, is something of a musical genius. She plays piano and baritone extremely well, and she’s got an amazing opera voice.
It’s pretty sweet to have cool siblings, and it’s days like this that I find myself pitying only-children. They must be lonely.
